They can produce amazing interactions between the fields by applying other magnets to the sides or ends of the box. Though designed for individual study, the box can be placed on an overhead projector for a two dimensional demonstration with no filings to clean up: 3 x 3 x 3 cube. Activities and usesUse the 3D Magnetic Field Observation Box to study magnetic fields in three dimensions. Look at the field from a single provided magnet or bring iron or another magnet near and see the results. A sample activity from the instructional guide is given below.
